Faithful Navigator's Message

Brother Knights,

As we begin a new fraternal year this September, we find ourselves once again reminded of both the fragility and the resilience of our shared humanity. The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk was not just an attack on one man, but a sobering reminder of the violence Christians continue to face in the world today. It is natural to feel sorrow, anger, even fear. But as Knights, as Catholic gentlemen, and as defenders of faith and freedom, we are called to something higher.

We cannot allow ourselves to be pulled into the cycle of negativity, hatred, or despair. Instead, we must remember that true strength is found not in retaliation but in Christ’s command to love—even when it is hardest. Violence seeks to silence, but dialogue—honest, respectful, and rooted in charity—has the power to heal and to transform. Let us strive to listen more deeply, to speak with humility, and to remain steadfast in building bridges with those with whom we disagree.

This is not easy work. But it is holy work. Each act of kindness, each defense of truth spoken with love, each choice to serve others instead of ourselves is a victory over the darkness. Our Assembly has an important role to play: to stand as witnesses of hope, to protect the vulnerable, to strengthen one another, and to carry the light of Christ boldly into our communities.

As we embark on this new year together, let us move forward with confidence—confidence in our faith, in the bonds of brotherhood, and in God’s promise to guide us through uncertainty toward greater purpose. The world needs men of courage, compassion, and conviction. My brothers, that is who we are. And no amount of hatred will ever take that away. Be the light!

Vivat Jesus,

Nino Hanna

Faithful Navigator
